Low Price Auto Glass of South Austin

Made an appointment yesterday for my Honda element and when I got here this morning, I figured out they didn’t do their due diligence and asked me if I had any aftermarket parts. I had a light bar on my car and since they forgot to ask me if I had one they told me as soon as I got there that They could not do it no matter what. Extremely poor communication, and then try to blame the problem on me instead of just taking responsibility themselves. Super unprofessional, and the girl who works the counter is extremely ignorant. Stay away from these people. Plenty of better options in the Austin area.

Called them up, ordered my windshield and scheduled my appointment for the next day. Appointment was punctual and quick, guy grabbed my keys to pull it in the shop as soon as I stepped out of my car and closed my door. Everyone was polite and my car was ready within 30-45 minutes. Overheard the owner explain to several phone calls about closing his business for the next week. He said he takes his staff on a company trip every year. I will always support a business owner who takes that good of care of his employees! Bravo! And my windshield looks great too!!

I took my old truck in to have a leak around my windshield checked and repaired. Originally Ernest thought It could be resealed, but unfortunately due to the truck age and model it needed a replacement. While my truck was there he also pointed out some issues with the seal on the rear cab window that would need attention. I asked him to go ahead and reseal the rear window too. I got my windshield replaced and the rear window resealed. This is is a good business. They do great, professional work for fair prices and the communication is excellent. How wonderful it is to get in my truck after a rain and not have puddles of water in the floorboard!

Recently my rear window was tinted at this business establishment in April 2024. The rear window was previously tinted at a different shop in 2016 and started to bubble. Prior to going to Low Price Auto Glass of South Austin; a separate shop told me to make sure where ever I go has a steamer to remove the tint, if not the rear defrost will never work the same. So I called Low Price Auto Glass of South Austin and was assured by the technician / installer he could do the job with the steamer without affecting the rear window defrost. After having the working done and once I paid the bill, the receptionist told me the defrost may not work the same , which is the total opposite of what her husband told me prior to doing the work. Other than that the staff was courteous and professional to me. It’s only been a little over a month but, overall the tint is good. However, it does have some imperfection on the bottom right and left side of the window that look to be bubbling up which I’m not complaining about at the moment as it has not worsened. Moreover, I haven’t had time to go by the shop and it’s supposed to carry a lifetime warranty. Only the middle of the rear window defrost works as seen in the pictures. The problem I have is not the fact the defrost problem occurred because another shop warned me of this potential when tint is removed from the rear window. The issue I have is the fact I was assured the rear window defrost would not be impacted by the removal / install which was the purpose of going to this shop to utilize the streamer to remove the glue without damage. Then after paying the bill I was told differently as in a bait and switch. The attached pictures speak for themselves. Wow! Ernest replaced my windshield, and all the connections that go with it, and did a fantastic job! Besides doing a great job he was very professional and reasonable! He also worked on my son's headlight covers. They are old and so yellowed light could barely shine through them. It's a major safety hazard. Someone else said they could refinish them, and it didn't do squat. So I was amazed to see Ernest's work. They looked brand new and crystal clear! My son and I are both very impressed with the work at Low Price Auto Glass of South Austin and are telling all our friends about this place! Ernest produces what he promises and has pride in his work! Plus he's very reasonable. It's hard to find someone with a good work ethic nowadays!

I'd just like to point out how incredibly tacky and rude the responses from the owner are. Read through a few you'll see what you need to see. If the owner is this argumentative online I can assure you the staff are worse in person. We ended up going somewhere else because of this reply. We considered going with your company until you proved my point. No one is hurting your reputation but you. Learn some soft skills and customer service and you will not get bad reviews from people that check the reviews before they spend their hard earned money. Don't blame others when the blame clearly falls on your shoulders. No, I will not take down this review.
