Had a rock hit my windshield and created a small dent. Had them come out and repair the dent. A couple weeks later I am driving and the dent cracks along the bottom of the entire windshield. I thought they had a warranty for their repairs but I was told "it's not covered" but they couldn't give me a reason why. Called representative to schedule appointment for a whole new windshield was told it was going to be $330. Robert come out today says after he's done will need payment for $330. He leaves and my card is charged $404. Call representative and ask why I was quoted twice for the same amount and was now charged a different amount. Says "I don't know. Maybe they were looking at a different window. Do you have the email quote" and of course no I don't have an email showing what they quoted me at. They say they have a lifetime warranty for air and water cracks. Can't wait for the next headache I'll have when this one breaks and I'll have to replace that one out of pocket again.

Made appointment to have my windshield replaced on a Saturday. Dropped car off and received a call 20 minutes later stating they can't repair the windshield because my Subaru has too many vision system codes. Tech added that this sometimes happens and I will need to take my car to the dealer, have them disengage the system and make a new appointment time with Safelite. I asked the tech that if this sometimes happens why don't they tell the customer upfront to have this checked out. I also asked why they don't call the Subaru dealer to get the necessary information needed for the codes. He responded "we just don't do that." Tech told me he'd give me a print out of the codes but then couldn't print the information. So, I took a screen shot of the codes. All totaled...2 hours of a Saturday lost and no new windshield. Update 1/12: Just scheduled windshield replacement elsewhere. They said they can replace the windshield without the codes. I would just need to take it to Subaru afterward and have the vision system calibrated.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

AVOID! My insurance company gave me their number and since they are Nationally known, I gave them the benefit-of-the-doubt that they knew what they were doing. Bad assumption! First off, it took 12 days for them to get me in because they had to order my windshield since they did not have everything they needed . . . fair enough. They also needed me to drop it off because they needed to calibrate my mirror onto the window . . . again, fair enough. So I dropped my car off on a Sunday night and they called me at 9:30am Monday morning saying that they did not have all the parts that they needed to replace my window and I would have to reschedule in 7 days. WOW!! I immediately called my insurance company and asked if I could switch companies. They said no problem and I found Kryger Glass just a mile away from them. They had everything they needed in-stock, were very friendly on the phone, and were able to hook me up and get the job done FAST!! Long-Story-Long . . . AVOID SafeLite Repair, replace them with places like Kryger Glass!

I have used Safelite twice. The first time they came out and broke my window more so then I had to drop it off to have the window fixed. Then it was a whole most of them not knowing how to fix the window. Embarrassing. Then the actually cut my leather seats in the process. The second time that I used them they canceled my appointment because the tech was sick. Is there one tech for all of Des Moines. In addition they called 2 hours after they should have been there as I had paid extra to be the first appointment. Then they canceled a second time. After this my windshield finally got fixed, and as I'm paying the guy says " I forgot the windshield wipers, did you still want them?" UHG ya I just paid for them. its honesty laughable how disorganized this business is . just go to you dealership and have a windshield put in cause these guys got not idea.

Trust the bad reviews and look elsewhere! Took 4 different trips to get my windshield repaired properly. My vehicle had multiple chips from rock damage. On the first trip to Safelite I was told they couldn't repair the chips because they were too close together. Said I would need a whole new windshield. Completely understandable. I scheduled the next available appointment for windshield replacement which was weeks away. Second trip was for the windshield replacement on 2023-06-05. Finding a legal parking spot was a chore. Dropped off car around 9AM and they were done by 2PM. Picked up my vehicle shortly after 2PM and by by 6PM that evening the rear view mirror housing was falling off (two clips rattling around). Fair enough. Mistakes happen. Spent over an hour the morning of 2023-06-06 trying to get a hold of someone to report the problem. The phone # is not local and you are routed to Safelite's automated system. After several prompts they finally route you to the location. I was disconnected twice and hung up on once. Each time you have to restart the process. Finally got a hold of someone on my fourth call and was told to just swing by the shop to fix it. No problem. Drove to the shop immediately after the call. No parking available again! Found a temporary parking spot and a tech looked at the issue and the tech said an appointment would need to be scheduled to fix it. The next available appointment was 2023-06-14. Kind of a joke just to properly mount a couple clips for the rear view mirror housing. Employees were unapologetic. Final trip was on 2023-06-14. Finally got the issue properly addressed. To be fair this time the employee was apologetic. Overall a terrible experience. Poor workmanship. Terrible parking lot. Awful customer service. Lot of wasted time for me. I wrote to Safelite about my issues and was told someone would reach out to me about the issues. It has been a few weeks since then and no one has reached out. That is ultimately what prompted me to write this negative review. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality

Well, I guess I should have read the reviews prior to calling them out. We had a rock chip that I was considering filling myself, I've made repairs in the past, but I decided to have a professional do it. My wife was outside when the repairman came. He did the work, and then she came in to ask me to have a look at the repair. From the outside the damage was still extremely visible, but from the inside there were 2 new cracks that appeared after the repair. The one crack is more than an inch long, making it an issue for roadworthiness. He was extremely aggressive and angry when I asked him to step in the vehicle to look at the issue. He refused to get in the vehicle to look at the damage he caused and said I received an email that said further damage could be caused by the repair process. I said that I didn't receive an email disclosing that information. My wife was visibly shook up from the way he behaved towards me. He argued that I did, but in fact, my wife had received the email. Why wouldn't you disclose this before booking the service? Seems like a good way to force customers into buying expensive windshields. We were quoted $1100 for a full replacement and only offered a $100 discount when the corporate office called to field the complaint. There are better promo codes online, so is that really a discount? There is clearly something bad going on with the pattern of reviews this company is having. Update 9/26: The owner only commented on the process of the repair. He didn't comment that a full replacement was $1100. I found a competitor that would install it for $950. That easily displays how they could be purposefully, damaging the glass during the repair just so they can sell you inflated full replacements. There isn't a single mention of how unprofessional his employee was on site. Do not use their services.
