The place was okay A little bit of a long wait my appointment was at 8:30am and they didn't see my car till 9:15am had my insurance pay for a chip in my windshield and I paid for some new wipers the technician put my wiper blades on the wrong side on my vehicle had to switch them over from passenger side to driver's side wrong size... 67.00 for a pair of wiper blades. I'll probably get my own wiper blades next time Rain-X or Bosch for the price I paid for these. I give them three stars for their service.

Since most of my driving is done on highway, I knew it was just a matter of time before I, too, experience a damage to my windshield. It was only a small chip, but it bothered me enough that I had to get it repaired. I knew about Safelite from commercials, so I reached out to them. I set up an appointment online and the form was pretty straightforward. They took care of the insurance claims and I only had to pay my deductible. The work itself only took about 30 minutes (as promised) and the whole process started with a very friendly and welcoming receptionist. Since I did not have to replace my windshield, I declined their offer to replace my wiper blades. One thing that I remembered on my drive home was that I did not get a receipt and a copy of the work order. However, when I got home and checked my email, one was already their waiting for me. Just another example of how good their customer service is. Will definitely recommend!

The people I dealt with were very nice and helpful. That said , the overall experience was less than promised. First, when I showed up for my original appointment, I was told that the windshield replacement had not come in. A phone call would have saved me an unnecessary trip. I got a new appointment about a week later. I tried to call the office the day of the appointment to verify the windshield was in, and no one picked up. The windshield had come in. They took my car in, but no one explained what was to follow. After a bit, the pleasant tech came out and said that the replacement windshield has a scratch in it. I looked at it and rejected it. I was surprised they even offered me a defective product. Fortunately, they had another windshield that was not defective and they installed it. They must have been rushed for time because of the hiccup in the schedule. There were streaks on the inside of the new windshield from a less than thorough cleaning of the glass. There were some small black particles on the dashboard that didn't get vacuumed up. And they did not clean the exterior glass all around as advertised. The new windshield is an improvement, but the experience was disappointing. They did install new windshield wipers at no charge as a peace offering.

I made an appointment to have a technician come and repair my windshield about a week out. I was then emailed day before and told they had no technician and moved it 4 to 5 days further out. I had a plan as I had a sticker appointment before then. There were time slots even earlier offered, so a week out should be no problem. I called and they said if I would drive the 40 minutes I could still get it done that day. So I said OK. They completed the work and left a mess on the dash. They promised to clean the outside glass, which they only did some. A week later I was washing the vehicle I noticed the sloppy sealant job they did as shown in the pictures attached. The windshield was a plain Jane model unlike what Portland Glass uses with the little jeeps and terrain on it. Portland Glass will match the price also, so lesson learned. Had I known beforehand that they don't keep their promised time I would have had it done somewhere else. This was my third time as a customer, but it might be my last due to missed promises and sloppy work.

Safelite was truly the best option for what I needed. There was a small hiccup with the type of windshield they ordered for me, but that was more on my end. But they apologized profusely for the inconvenience and made sure I was going to get what I needed and timely. They set up for a mobile technician (Benjamin) to come to my house and install my windshield in the driveway. It was so fast, and Ben was truly so professional and nice. I would highly recommend this location to anyone in the Portland area.

Scheduled appointment online. It was a pretty simple process. Good automated communication throughout the process. They came to my home. Tech showed up on time and was done very quickly. They booked insurance seamlessly. Seems like a good experience, right? Those were the positives and if the end result was satisfactory I would be leaving a 5 star review. Sadly the result was not satisfactory. The damage was not repairable meaning that the windshield will now need to be replaced. Things that made this a less pleasant process was the multiple nagging to add new wipers. I was solicited for them when I made the appointment, on reminders of the appointment and by the tech. Enough, I don't need new wipers. Before the tech started the work he shared the littany of legal excuses to relieve them of any responsibility... "This process may damage the window further, we won't guarantee that your car will pass inspection, it may make things worse, new damage may develop" and yet I still went ahead. That is clearly my fault and inexperience. It would have been helpful if there was a person that did this regularly and could consult and say "in situations like this, you will be left with a slightly larger crack and you may want to consider replacing the windshield rather than paying to repair it". If only that person existed. Lastly, I hand washed my car today with this spring weather and found several scratches in the A-pillar. They will buff out I'm sure. It was just this carelessness that was the straw that broke the camel's back and prompted me to do this review. UPDATE: The local manager reached out to me in the interest of resolving my issue. I appreciated his attention and willingness to assist. We scheduled a replacement windshield which was damaged when I arrived so we needed to reschedule. Everything is replaced and functional. They did a good job replacing it. I do wish they would have used black adhesive rather than white adhesive to remount the dash camera. Pretty minor issue. I am updating my review to 4 starts from 2 because they did what they could to make things right.
