Outstanding! I am very nit picky, especially with my car. I came in with a huge crack in my windshield. The first thing I noticed was that I was greeted by a friendly associate. Then I noticed how clean and organized their shop is. That in itself made me feel very comfortable. They called me at the expected pickup time. I came in and the gentleman went through the repair. The lady who checked me out at the counter was very friendly. The windshield is in good condition and the work they did looks very clean. I will recommend using this place and will return, if needed. Also, they worked with my insurance. I'm leaving my original review but updating and removing a star because I found a couple small hairline scratches on the inside. I've hardly driven the car and today on my way home it stuck out with the sun. The car has only had an exterior wash and it's been about two weeks since the appointment. The shop was great, but the product itself came with defects.

The online communication (e.g., website, text, email — reminders ; what to do before and after; and video on what to expect) with Safelite was comprehensible before and after the service. The tech who welcomed me to the site was very kind (in my 10+ years living in the area - one of the most earnest service employees I’ve encountered). My appointment commenced as scheduled and they greeted me by name. He also promptly called me when the job was almost finished so I’d have enough time to return as it was done. I was hesitant by the other reviews but my experience was a five star in costumer service, service, and efficiency. The windshield looks great. I’ll have to clean my car now but that’s to be expected after such a job as replacing the windshield… I’m grateful my insurance company recommended that I bring my vehicle here. Thanks again for your extended kindness and efficiency!

The technical repair was not the problem. The lack of communication was. I was on time for my 11:00am appointment 12/18/2021, I was told the repair would take approximately three hours. Before the appointment a received a text from the location asking how I wanted to be updated about the status of the repair. The link provided also had a status section listing the stages of the repair and indicated it would be updated as the work progressed. I received no electronic or text updates. At 5:10 pm after closing time, I received a call that the repair was finished and I could pick up the car. I told the tech where I was coming from and he could not guarantee they would stay the time it would take to get there. The business is closed on Sundays so I was without the vehicle until Monday morning. If the status had been updated or a call made earlier to tell me the status of the repair, this could have been avoided. They do good work but the communication with customers needs improvement.ServicesAuto windshield replacement

Terrible and unprofessional service. Find any other safelite. In January my windshield broke. I scheduled an appointment. After I got to my appointment and dropped my car off 3 hours later they told me that the windshield that they were going to replace it with was cracked and I had to go back to Bethesda, which is not easy when you don't have a car, and pick my car back up. It took them 3+ weeks to get a replacement. While they were replacing my windshield they broke the casing to my rearview mirror. I had to schedule an additional appointment to replace the casing that they broke. My appointment was at 8 am, I called to see if they had the part for my rearview mirror, but couldn't contact them until 8 am, and to save my time and gas and not show up to safelite and for them to turn me away because they do not have the part, which is something that this horrible safelite would do, the person on the other line said I had to make it there by 8:15 am or they'll reschedule my appointment. I am already upset because they are the ones who broke my rearview mirror casing in the first place and she was short with me, I said I couldn't make it by 8:15 am and she hung up on me without telling my if they have the part. Update she also hung up on my dad when he called without telling him if they have the part.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

We made an appointment online with Safelite for a windshield replacement at the Bethesda, MD location. Making a change to the said appointment online was impossible, even though Safelite encourages you to make any change online. Every time we tried to call the store, the call was rerouted to some central location, and the prompts would not provide an option to talk to an agent. After getting disconnected multiple times, I finally had to choose the option for "getting a quote", to get a hold of a live person, who did not have up to date information. We had a 9:00 am appointment. The many texts and email messages you receive prior to your appointment, want you to arrive 10 minutes early, which we did. We were told it would take 2-1/2 to 3 hours for the windshield replacement and re-calibration. At 11:03 am, we received a text stating that "The replacement service on your vehicle has started." Why did I have to come in one and half hours early? We made our way back to the shop and got there at 11:45 am. As we inquired about the status, a young and pleasant technician (Devin) told us that he's working on it and will be done in 15 minutes. At this point, we noticed that the old windshield had been removed, but seemingly nothing else was in place. We went for another walk around the block and then received a call at 12:23 pm that the car was ready. The windshield looks good, the cameras seem to be working properly so far. Except for the technician, Devin, who worked on our car and was friendly, I am NOT impressed with Safelite, especially in terms of communication.

Don't waste your time here. Like another reviewer, we were referred here by our insurance company USAA. Made the appointment, waited two weeks for the glass to get ordered, dropped off my car, uber'd home, then got a call saying they'd ordered the wrong glass and that I needed to pick up my car and reschedule. Got the car and began the whole process all over again. Two weeks later, dropped off my car, uber'd home, then got a call saying they'd ordered the wrong glass again and that I needed to pick up my car and reschedule. That's more than 4 hours and 4 weeks wasted with these incompetents. Called the manager for an explanation, never got my calls returned. Went to the dealer, got the job done professionally and promptly and insurance paid for it. These guys may be fine with a simple replacement on an older car but if you have a more recent car where the windshield has sensors, forget it.NegativePunctuality, Quality, ProfessionalismServicesAuto windshield replacement
