Scheduled Safelite appointment to repair a crack on my windshield. Upon arrival, I initially believed the repair was satisfactory. However, after driving the car, I noticed that the repair had left a white spot that appeared more severe than the crack it was intended to fill. I have had numerous windshield cracks repaired in the past by satellite repair services and local glass companies. While I am familiar with the repair process and understand that the small crack may persist after the repair, I am confident that it will not spread or crack the surrounding area. I provided feedback and was advised to contact the provided phone number. Upon calling, a young woman informed me that the repair was not considered a cosmetic repair but rather a preventive measure to prevent further damage. While I comprehend this, I was disappointed that the repair did not improve the appearance of the crack. The only option she offered was to replace the entire windshield, which would result in a refund of the original repair cost towards my deductible. However, I was unwilling to pay the full $500 deductible for a problem that was caused by Safelite. I requested that they simply refund the money I had already paid for the repair. She informed me that this was not their policy. This experience was unacceptable customer service, and I will not be using Safelite again. Sincerely, Nathaniel Watson

I setup my appointment via online. I received my appointment text and everything was good to go. I then received a text a couple hours later advising that my vehicle’s windshield requires recalibration (which is a 325$ added service). I immediately contacted Safelite and told them that my vehicle does not have any features that require window recalibration, I explained to the representative that my vehicle does not have any of the added safety alert features these new smart cars have. The representative told me they will leave a note for the window service tech that “I BELIEVE that my vehicle does not require recalibration” Now this is a vehicle that I’ve owned for numerous years. I again explained to the representative I don’t believe, I know that my vehicle does not need recalibration for the features I don’t have. The representative replied “okay I will let them know.” Come appointment day… I checked in and I was still scheduled for the windshield and the not needed recalibration which almost came out to be $1000. I told the technician that my vehicle does not require window recalibration And I told them to come inspect my vehicle They humored me and we walked to my vehicle. An inspection was done and they agreed that my vehicle doesn’t need Recalibration… however they now don’t have the proper windshield for my vehicle and I have to reschedule… this interaction was Extremely inconvenient and poor. This showed me that they have complete disregard for customers knowledge regarding services needed for their personally owned vehicles and that they will make an attempt to milk you for additional monies if you’re not paying attention and just blindly trust them.

Sure, you can get a cheaper windshield replacement somewhere else...BUT... I used Safelite - Fairview Heights for my first ever windshield replacement last week. I am extremely satisfied with the experience and feel it was worth every penny. My area just had dangerous storms, and every repair place like this must have been busier than ever. I got an accurate quote from Safelite online in less than 5 minutes. I was able to schedule my service and pay in advance. The Tech (Russell) was communicative and friendly. He showed up on time and replaced my windshield in my office parking lot while I worked. No paperwork to sign on the spot, as I'd already taken care of everything online. My work day had basically no disruption. The replacement took less than 1 hour. The new windshield looks really nice, and has a lifetime warranty. For a 2017 sedan, the windshield, installation, warranty and everything that comes with it cost around $500. I'd absolutely recommend this service to others.

They don’t deserve the one star. My car took hail damage in the tornado may 16th. I’ve been trying to get my windshield replaced since that day. They came out last week with the wrong windshield. Even though they had the vin number to the car. Said it would be another week and they would be back out to fix it. That’s today. They were supposed to be here at 8am. I had to call them. They still don’t have the windshield. My service is paid for in full but it’s been two weeks and I still have a cracked windshield. Patiently waiting on the manager to call and try and lie to me again. They just need to refund me so I can get my windshield fixed elsewhere … will never request service from them again.

Appointment was scheduled easily and the technician came out. He realized the windshield he brought didn’t match the one I currently had. No big deal, it happens. Had to reschedule and take my car in this time, only to find out they installed the wrong glass still. I had to leave to pickup my kids from school but told them of the mistake and 3 days later still waiting to hear back from the manager on how they will fix this. They’re supposed to be the experts so not sure how they can get the wrong glass twice. Look at what is on my vehicle and look at the new glass… the new glass has 3 inches of blue tint on the top - hard to miss this.ServicesAuto windshield repairPrice assessmentNot sure

I was thoroughly impressed with the staff at this facility. I went to see them last Saturday and it was quite busy. My rearview mirror had detached from the glass and I was hoping to get an appointment on the schedule. Not only did they fit me in immediately, but they were polite and considerate. Both the front desk person and the tech who assisted me couldn't have been nicer. They had me in and out in about ten minutes, and refused payment for their services. That's rare these days! And when I tried to tip him ... he said (three times) ... "... are you sure ... because you don't have to do this." I tipped him anyway because they totally made my day! What a relief. And he said "if it falls off again, just come on back and we'll fix you up again." If they give that kind of promise on a free service, you can imagine they stand behind their other work as well. They've won me over as a customer if I ever need auto glass repaired or replaced. I would 100% recommend this location.
