My biggest complaint with the Safelite is the difficulty in communicating with them. They do not advertise a direct number and the call center can only try to call them, but they don't answer the phone. I called twice to the call center and they sent emails to the manager, but I never received a reply from the first call I made. My second email was mistakenly sent to the wrong location, to the Seattle Washington store and Jackson the manager called me immediately. He found that I was not in Seattle but he helped me through the process and followed up a couple of times to be sure that I was taken care of by the St. Louis South County location. He went above and beyond what he needed to do since he wasn't even in the same state and I was not bringing my car to him. He was very kind and helpful. When I was able to get a direct number to the South County location, still no one answered the phone. There was a problem that they had the wrong car listed for my repair and the only way to talk to someone was when I arrived for my appointment and they didn't have the correct windshield. I had been trying to contact them to tell them this but no one responded. It was a very frustrating experience. In the end, they did the work and everything seems to be done correctly.

The good: The staff is very respectful and friendly, you can charge your phone the chairs are comfortable and the bathroom is clean. The bad: This business is not successful at doing what they are paid to do. Insurance chose Safelite to install two of our damaged windshields. Safelite finished the windshield but said that they were unable to finish calibration had to be done different day. Passenger windshield wiper was nonfuncional after service and they said they would fix that when they did recalibration. New Appointment was made for 12 noon a month later. I dropped off car and they said that it would be done in 1 hour. I came back 2 hours later and they had not started yet. It took 4 hours and they used a quarter tank of my gasoline only to tell me that they were unsuccessful in recalibrating the windshield and I had to reschedule to a different day. Four of the computer lights are flashing in the car now creating a highly dysfunctional and distracting car because of the incompetence of safelite. On another separate car safelite installed a "new" damaged chipped windshield and we had to take off of work to get this windshield replaced. To repeat, Safelite installed a damaged windshield and we had to make anothe appointment to get this fixed. The company seems HIGHLY dysfunctional and poorly run. It seems like they might not know what they corner the market with insurance. The staff is very kind but they are in the business of installing windshields and wipers and on two separate services they failed horribly. We have wasted 3 work days only to have safelite fail miserably. This is not service it is utter incompetence AND they are being paid for this.ServicesAuto windshield repair, Auto windshield replacement, Service not listedPrice assessmentOverpriced

Terrible customer service. I had an appointment on August 1st to repair a chip in my windshield. The tech was scheduled to come between 12-5 at my work. Nobody showed up at all and no call or email was sent saying what happened. I was just forgotten about basically I guess. I tried calling but its literally impossible to get a real person on the line. A couple days later after trying the phone, I just ended up going to this location to see what the issue was. The desk girl told me that they had fired the tech for my appointment and that they could schedule an appointment in 2 days for the chip repair. So I mistakenly obliged and scheduled the appointment. 2 days later the tech shows up, it was a completely different tech then they said was coming in the email. She was nice but seemed very inexperienced and didn't seem to care about much. Long story short not even like 30 seconds in to fixing the chip, the entire wind shield was cracked. And she basically just told me I had to schedule another appointment to get my whole windshield replaced now. I am beyond frustrated with safelite and will never be using them again. Below are the pictures. It went from a barley noticeable chip to my entire windshield cracked.ServicesAuto windshield repair

They didn't replace my windshield, so I can't say how well they replace windshields. They DID waste hours of my time and condescend to me, though. My appointment was at 7 a.m. (arrived at 6:30 and waited until 6:50, which was check-in time according to the various emails I got about my appointment). Nobody there, because the shop doesn't open until 8. Nobody to answer the phone (the robot answering machine will just hang up on you, no matter how many times you call). The national switchboard just redirects to the local phone number, which again hangs up on you. Chatting on the website led me to a different customer service number which found my appointment but couldn't get ahold of the store for me. CS assured me they had my windshield and would be able to replace it at 8 when they opened. Someone arrived around 7:30 and locked the door behind him. I waited until 7:45 when another two people (customers) arrived and the door was open. I waited in line to be helped only to be told I missed my appointment, and now I couldn't get my service done. They said I should have put my key in the dropbox for them to grab at 7 (which nobody told me, no email told me, the website didn't tell me, and no sign indicated at the store). When I brought this up, the front desk representative just said it was a "new" service but couldn't answer how I would have known that, seeing as nothing told me to drop off my key. It should be noted that I was parked in front of the shop for an hour and a half and didn't see anyone come to check the dropbox, so not sure it would have helped even if I DID know to put my key there and wait. The emails did tell me I could wait for the service to finish in the waiting room, which wasn't open until 8, so I guess they wanted me to drop my key off and just wait in the parking lot for an hour?? Now they said they can't help me today or even this week, which was MY fault for missing my appointment (even though I was there on time and they were not). The manager who spoke to me answered every question I had by telling me he was "just trying to reason" with me, which felt quite condescending and unnecessary since asking for help and explanation on their part is not in fact unreasonable when you have been waiting an hour and a half for an appointment you did show up on time for. I wouldn't recommend this location unless you want to waste time, not get the service done, and leave feeling insulted.

I dropped off my truck at their South County, MO location to have the windshield replaced due to a crack. I opted to take my truck to one of their facilities instead of them doing the replacement at my work since it was 95° (heat index of 105°) and I though it would make it easier on the technician to do it in their shop. When I picked up my truck I noticed the state inspection sticker was missing. They looked for it for a while, but said they couldn’t find it. Then I drove my truck and immediately noticed a distortion in the glass in my field of view. The technician had to drive my truck to recalibrate the cameras for lane keeping sensors. He had to notice the distortion, but didn’t mention it to me. I contacted Safelite’s Customer Care and they started a case and said someone would call me back. No one has. Now, I have to get my windshield replaced again and go through that inconvenience. Not a good experience.ServicesAuto windshield repairPrice assessmentReasonable price

Got my windshield replaced. After a couple days I noticed steaks of blurriness on the passenger side when sitting at a store looking at parking space lines (pics 1&2). Called and about a week later it was replaced again with the same issue (pics 3&4). I was having dinner near the location so I stopped by as I also noticed the window was not cleaned well and the installer didn't clean off his suction cup print. They also scheduled a new appointment to replace again to which I stated I would refuse a glass by the same manufacturer. After leaving the location and then cleaning the window it was still horribly streaked and dirty (pic 5). I didn't waste my time driving back. I contacted the location today 2/1 to find out they still can't confirm who the new glass is made by with my appointment on Friday 2/3. I have requested a refund, which I was told by Ryan (spelling?) it will be 3-5 days and will be using someone else. Edit 2/8/23 went to get my windshield replaced by another company and it was pointed out the wiper nut cover were missing. Safelite is the only company to remove this. Thanks for stealing from my vehicle
