We had the windshield of our 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport replaced in March 2021. This was done through our insurer, State Farm due to a chip in the windshield. Mind you, it's COVID-19, so we're working from home and not driving often. Plus it was replaced in the late winter--no rain. Fast-forward to May 2021. It started with a putrid smell every time we got into the car. This was puzzling. We had the car cleaned to rule out any issues. Then one day, my partner texts me a photo of her driving in the rain--WATER IS GETTING INTO THE CAR THROUGH THE POORLY INSTALLED WINDSHIELD! Additionally, there is MOLD in the vehicle as a result. I called Safelite for a replacement and was told they would come over the next day between 12pm-5pm to address it. The morning of the appointment, the manager of the store calls to say he had a technician call out. He asked if we could bring the vehicle to the shop as a result. I'm sorry but your inability to manage your staff and your store is not my problem as a customer. Your team already managed to mess up this initial installation. I have two small children and now our relatively new SUV is molding from the inside. We are taking the vehicle to the shop today to have it repaired, so I may update this depending on how that goes, but DO NOT TRUST THE ITHACA SAFELITE LOCATION WITH YOUR VEHICLE. Pictures attached for reference. We are FURIOUS. UPDATE 5/28/21: Safelite replaced the windshield, however would not offer any mea culpa for the mold. Instead they told us that there's mold on the driver side, so it must not have been caused by the leaking windshield. For what it's worth, it appears the windshield is no longer leaking. Now what to do about the mold and water damage? Stay tuned folks. Want to avoid litigation? My experience with Safelite autoglass in Ithaca was very positive. The techs were pleasant and professional. The waiting room was clean and comfortable, and they did a great job replacing my windshield. They worked with my insurance company making the whole experience virtually effortless on my part.

My experience with the shop in Ithaca NY was great. Easy to schedule, staff was friendly and responsive to let me know when my vehicle was done. They did a good job removing my inspection and registration sticker and applied them to the new windshield. Attention to detail is something I look for and we had a ezpass on our windshield that was left in the center console and my thinking was I needed to get another set of sticky velcro to re apply the ezpass. When I arrived home and looked closely they had supplied the new velcro so I was able to install the ezpass where I wanted. That is what a good company and technicians do. Great job!

Our son just recently had a rock hit his windshield and we recommended Safelite AutoGlass. He received the same efficient and friendly service that we received previously. He asked to get mobile service which showed up and gave him great service. My previous review: We have had 2 windshield replacements at Safelite Ithaca over the last 10 years. Both times service was easy and quick. On the phone the scheduler took my auto insurance policy number and processed the entire thing. No hassle. I dropped the car off at 9AM and they called me at 11AM. The windshield was replaced and camera calibrated. They emailed me a receipt and certificate of calibration. I think the whole process was handled very professionally. Thank you.

My windshield got replaced ok but they didn't have the mount for my camera system told me they would call and come out to my place to finish the job. It's been 3 weeks and nothing and no way to get through the auto phone system to talk to a living person guess I need to go 30 minutes out of my way to talk to them in person

This is not a very good company they left glass all over the ground an inside my trunk they never put my door back together an never reinstalled the wiper an motor back into the glass they told me they couldn’t get it apart so I have to take it to a machanic an pay out of pocket to have them reinstall it I don’t recommend this place at all
