I had a windshield replacement appointment on Saturday 12/28. It began to drizzle that morning so my husband purchased a portable garage to cover my car. I did not receive a cancellation email or call for my 12-5pm appointment. We finally called the Danbury store at 4:45pm since no one had shown up. The person who answered confirmed they did, in fact, cancel my appointment! They rescheduled for 12/31 but when I picked up my car at completion, the inside of my vehicle was littered with glass. There was glass all over my dash, center console, both seats and on the floor. To top it off, my rear view mirror was also cracked. With the holidays, I had to drive around like that until today. They are supposed to come and remedy the situation. I was given a 12-5pm window - it is 2:20, and I have been unable to reach anyone at the store. Stay tuned...... **This will not allow me to upload photos**

Working with this branch was a pleasant experience. The tech contacted me before he arrived, completed the work in a professional manner and informed me me when he left. I wasn’t home while the work was done. After seeing the result as well as the interaction with the tech, I won’t hesitate to use them again. The reason for 4 stars and not 5: Safelites windshields aren’t OEM unless you ask. My windshield has an emblem which identifies the vehicle. I found this out only after asking about the emblem. My insurance company did cover the OEM windshield, however it took two appointments with adjustments to my work schedule to get it fixed. Letting customers know upfront that the windshields aren’t OEM should be part of their process. On some vehicles aftermarket glass may not be an issue. However, ones with emblems and the like, or customers who want OEM, should be informed.

The lack of communication and professionalism on the business's end was deplorable. I had an appointment scheduled two weeks ahead of time on August 6th, which was rescheduled without my consent. Fast forward to the day of my newly scheduled appointment on August 16th, I was given the time frame of 8 am-12 pm to have a technician by the name of Patrick arrive at my home. It was approaching noon, prompting me to reach out to the office just to be transferred over to my technician, who told me that my car would not be serviced until two hours AFTER my given time frame. My time was never taken into consideration, nor was an apology issued, which is my main problem and concern. Sure I received some off-brand windshield wipers after REQUESTING them, but this is far from a professional remedy. I UNDERSTAND THAT OVERBOOKING HAPPENS AS I AM A PROVIDER MYSELF. STILL, IT IS PROPER BUSINESS ETIQUETTE AND RESPECT TO INFORM YOUR CUSTOMERS AHEAD OF TIME OF LATE ARRIVAL INSTEAD OF THEM FINDING OUT THEMSELVES BY HUNTING YOU DOWN. Furthermore, once the installation was complete, I quickly noticed that my rearview mirror was loose and that the mount connecting the mirror to the windshield was left crooked. When bringing this up to the technician, I was told there was no solution to this problem but to receive a new windshield. Completely unbelievable. I am highly discouraged from trusting Satellite with my future windshield repairs. Poor quality and professionalism! THE ENTIRE FIASCO COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED, AND IT IS INEXCUSABLE.

The replacement windshield is fine but what's not fine is that the installer broke my OEM wind deflector on the front of the hood in multiple places, put making tape on the cracks to hold it together and never let me know. I brought the truck to the Danbury Safelite location to show them and after many emails and calls they refused to do anything for me... at all... when this was clearly their fault. The wind deflector is no longer made and I ended up having to repaint the entire hood because the front edge had damage from the deflector. Victor Padilla is the manager there and he acted like he would help but did not, only making it worse. Horrible experience and would never have these guys replace any windshields again.ServicesAuto windshield replacement

I don't normally write negative reviews but this place is **unbelievably bad**. Like wow. I had a mobile appointment scheduled for Tuesday to fill a small crack in the windshield. On Monday, Safelite left me a voicemail saying they had to cancel the appointment due to the cold. I totally understand (it is winter in the Northeast) but I have been calling this location all week to reschedule the appointment. No one picks up. This claim was marked as 'complete' in my car insurance, so I had to call my car insurance on Friday and tell them they needed to reopen the claim. My car insurance agent tried to contact this Safelite location and couldn't get through and ended up calling Safelite Corporate. The representative from Safelite Corporate also tried to give this location a call and was unable to get through either. Safelite Corporate said they could reschedule me with this location but since they aren't answering phones, I asked to be switched to another location. This has taken up a lot of my time and should not have been this frustrating or need for escalation to my insurance company or Safelite corporate.

(Review has been updated) Original review - Excellent experience. They were quick with the windshield replacement. It took about an hour or so. UPDATE - Safelite’s faulty windshield replacement caused water damage to my 2021 Acura TLX during a rain storm, leading to electrical and audio issues. What followed was an exhausting 11-week battle with Safelite, insurance, and a tow truck company to restore the vehicle, yet I was still left with $360 in unreimbursed costs that Safelite should have covered. I lost access to transportation, missed work, paid out of pocket for Ubers, and spent countless hours dealing with the mess; all while working full time and attending college. The technicians rushed the job, ignored proper procedures, and ordered the wrong tow truck, which caused even more damage. After sharing my story, I found out my friend’s dad had the exact same issue with Safelite, and I’ve since seen many people online reporting similar experiences. This isn’t just a one-off, it’s a pattern. They use low-quality materials and show little regard for your time or your vehicle. I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
