*Edit: They made it right today…one of the other techs looked at the windshield and said it was definitely defective and they replaced it. Changing to 3 stars because they should have checked the windshield prior to letting him leave. Extremely frustrated. On Saturday, June 21st, my fiancée scheduled an appointment to replace the cracked windshield. They said they would come to the house on Monday, June 23rd. Safelite called that day (Monday) and said the windshield they were going to replace got damaged but said that if he went to the Safelite location on Wednesday the 25th, they will have another one to install. He went on Wednesday and they said the one they ordered was also damaged and then said come back on Friday (today) and they will replace it. So he went, they replaced it but on the drive home he thought it was blurry/looked magnified but due to having a headache he thought it was just him not feeling well and asked me to take a look. By the time I was able to drive his vehicle to see for myself, Safelite was closed with no way of getting in contact with them during off hours. The windshield is, indeed defective. The 24/7/365 advertisement is a joke - you can’t talk to anyone. I am writing this review to 1) document the issue and 2) to ask that Safelite make it right as the deductible was not cheap. I am pretty understanding when things happen but this is beyond a terrible experience. Safelite Portsmouth, please make this right ASAP because we now have to change our family plans because of this situation!

Scheduled a chipped front window service. Service technician was ready, but, after talking with him, we decided to replace the window. I was told by the service department where I'm going to have my vehicle inspected that the windshield may fail inspection due to the placement of the chip, which is within range of the wipers. My self repair job looked okay, but, you can still see it. A new windshield has to be ordered and my insurance will still cover it. The service technician and I tried to even set up a visit from Safelite but my schedule is all over the place. We set up an appointment for installation at Safelite. My follow up appointment went well. They replaced the windshield and it's so nice 👍 to look out a clear windshield! They even reattached my EZ Pass transponder, inspection sticker and oil change sticker! All within an hour! Waiting area available. It has a TV, AC and a Keurig. Place to sit outside. Use to be a fire station before. Lifetime warranty on the windshield. I was told to wait two weeks before going to a carwash. I recommend this business!

The people at Safelite in Portsmouth, NH were fantastic. Upon my arrival, the gentleman that greeted me was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He answered all my questions and concerns in a non hurried professional way. I felt confident that they would do a great job, just based on that interaction. All the paperwork needed was there and already printed. I handed over my keys and received phone calls and text messages as the windshield replacement took place. The car was ready when promised and the programming of the cameras and sensors was done correctly wipers and cruise control are working great. The only complaint I have is about the parking lot and the front door. The office is in the front of the building and the cars are in the back of the building. So at some point you may have to walk on grass or go through the shop, which both could be dangerous. Pickup was quick and easy. I showed up and they gave me my keys and off I went. I wish everything in life were this easy. Bravo.

Twice I took my car to them and both times they messed up. The first time there the black clips that clip into both bottom corners of the windshield. They come with the windshield to hold it in place. The bottom left one was broken and flapping hitting the windshield on the highway making a vibrating noise. I took it to dealership they asked if I replaced my windshield recently. And told me the issue. I took back to safelite and they said there was nothing they did. Than a year later they replaced it again. And they never put back my inspection sticker and messed up the calibration and never gave me a receipt. They were rude … disrespectful, arrogant jerks in portsmouth NH Never ever go there. When I came back the next day to get the calibration fixed since my warning lights for the road are set to the windshield. They told me I needed to make an appointment. It was a Saturday and I explained that I wasn’t taking another day off of work for them to fix the car since I took a half day Friday to have them do it. They are the ones that messed up not me. They still refused to do it without an appointment. I guess I will take my car to the dealer to fix the calibration. If Amica keeps Safelite as a contractor to fix broken windshields I may need to switch insurance companies.

DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS LOCATION!!!!! I brought my vehicle to this Safelite in October of 2023 because of a cracked windshield. I was told that because my vehicle at the time was so new and had electronic safety sensors, they had to order my windshield and put an older one on instead. After weeks of waiting I was then told that my windshield was on a “nationwide back order” and they would call me when it came in. Well fast forward 4 months and I had to essentially track them down, they lost my case number and had no idea who i was, and had to reorder my windshield. FINALLY they put on the correct windshield and I was able to actually use safety features I bought my car for. Now fast forward to February 2025 and my car started having a bunch of electrical issues. I had to get my vehicle towed to the mechanic 3 separate times, 2 of them being stranded at work because no one could figure out why a 2023 Toyota was having auto/stop failure, drive stop failure, and windshield sensor failure. After getting it towed for the 3rd time in March, my mechanic informed me the reason i was having so many electrical issues was because 3/4 of the windshield that Safelite replaced was not sealed at all. So water was getting into my vehicle for over a year. Not only was it causing all the electrical issues I was having, but it also caused mold to accumulate all in my carpets and dash. My car then had to be gutted completely with everything but the seats getting replaced. $5000 worth of damage over a facility not being able to do the one thing they do every single day. It’s absolutely mind boggling the stupidity, save yourself the time and money.

The nuts-and-bolts: Subaru Outback windshield replaced on 24 Feb 2024. Called about a week before to make an appointment for a Saturday morning. Got instructions on the key dropoff and such for Friday night, and they said the car would be ready by the end of the day Saturday. They were even better than that, with Daniel calling me at 9am to let me know the car was ready. They did it right. EZ-pass was back on the glass in exactly the same spot (minor detail, yes, but an attention to detail), seal is nice and smooth all of the way around, no dings, scratches, fingerprints, etc, on paint or interior surfaces. Done just as nice as OEM. Shop was heated nice and warm, which helps with adhesive cure times this time of year. This is a working shop, not a dealership, so don't expect comfy chairs and coffee waiting for you. Nicely done.
