I went there yesterday and had one of the most bizarre/frustrating experiences working with a business in town. Let me preface by the fact that I’ve used them many times without issue. I didn’t recognize or had never seen the cashier/desk attendant. I went in to check in my car. I had an appointment. Asked if I could speak to a tech about the crack I was there for another one I I had just noticed. I showed him where the one was that I got on the interstate the day before. Then I asked about another one I found on the lower side. I bought the vehicle a few months before. I asked his opinion if it looked like it was filled if it wasn’t, id like to know if I could and what out of pocket cost would be. To which he replied, “I can let you know”. I said perfect. Just take care of the one in drivers view that occurred when I was driving and let me know about the other one. For all I know maybe it was filled. Anyways! I went around the corner to kill time to the grocery and staples. I came back just before 5 as I didn’t get a call it was done. When I walked in the insanely snarky desk attendant told me I had walked away from my conversation with the tech so they did nothing. This was crazy laughable. After all she did just get my contact and repeated it to me not even an hour before. The tech walked inside and I walked away after saying okay just take care of the one that happened under my care and let me know. Not only did I not receive a call saying they weren’t working on anything but the attendant repeated to me six times that because their was a crack existing if they filled my new rock chip is insurance fraud…After her saying it six times and me being completely confused and frustrated the tech said because it’s was there I could get my new one filled?! Somebody make that makes sense. I wasn’t trying to claim the existing as he was “going to look into it and let me know”. So 50 minutes later, I returned to be greeted by her telling me that I was in the wrong, nothing had been fixed on my vehicle, and basically see you later. I don’t get mad in these situations. I was insanely frustrated. I have six vehicles that we take there both business and pleasure. Maybe it’s just gone downhill in a few months time. Maybe she gets a kick out of repeating to someone the same thing over and over even when she wasn’t part of the conversation with the tech that I had. If you aren’t going to provide a service or WON’T even though the claim was properly made with my insurance at least give people a courtesy call. This place is a joke!! Give someone else your business that will talk to you respectfully or at bare minimum communicate at all.

Let me preface this by saying that this is at least the 4th vehicle I've taken there over the last 15 years and I didn't have any issue with the previous 3 jobs. This latest job was super sloppy. The first thing I noticed, when getting in my vehicle to leave, was that there was a string of urethane (windshield glue) on my passenger door arm rest. It was not stuck, so I didn't think much of it, and I peeled it up and discarded it. When I got home, I noticed urethane on my passenger seat upholstery. I took care of that with some lacquer thinner. Then I noticed urethane on the passenger fender, urethane on the roof, a spot of urethane on the inside of the windshield directly in front of the driver. I cleaned those up with some turpentine or lacquer thinner depending on the surface. A couple days later I noticed that the cowl was not flush with the glass - it had about a half inch gap in the center. They had screwed it down at the outer corners only, leaving the center screws just sitting there, and the center was bowed up. This was because they didn't leave a gap for the cowl "tabs" to slide under the glass. They had over-applied the urethane, which on this truck should not reach the bottom of the glass. They used so much (or applied it so low) that it extended out past the bottom of the glass, leaving a large blob. This prevented the cowl from installing correctly. I was able to trim most of it away, but still cannot install the cowl properly. Even with the urethane trimmed, as there is not enough space between the glass and the gutter for the center tab to slide under.

It's been a number of weeks since I had work done there (replacing windshield). Since then I have had time to reflect on the work and the response I gave them to a customer satisfaction survey. It took me two days, and nearly 8 hours of my time to get the job done. I left the car with them for 4 hours the first time and returned only to be told to wait about 3 and they had not yet started, despite having had an appointment weeks in advance. I informed them I would come back the following week. I returned a will later and got it done in around 3 hours. Job done right? Nope... I gave them very specific instructions to mount the dashcam exactly where it was to begin with. I reminded them when I returned, and they told me they forgot to attach it. The person who performed the task then went and attached it... Badly. I had to redo the attachment a week later. That said, I was asked before leaving to please give him a 5 star rating or he would lose his job. Seriously, your job depends on my rating? Only in America. I returned to my car and it's new windshield to find wires hanging loose, rack and pinion out of place, and little bits of plastic all over. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled. A few days later I received the customer survey, in which I let them know I was not happy. I have heard absolutely nothing back from them. So in the spirit they have shown towards me, here is my public review. My advice, go anywhere else if you can. You'll have time, money and a lot of effort. Additionally, maybe a poor kids job won't be on the line if the work is shoddy.

Made an appointment with this company almost a month in advance. They called me the day before my appointment saying they needed my vin number but I was going into work and was unable to get it to them at that moment. I brought it in for the appointment the next day and they told me they ordered the wrong glass because they did not have the vin. I told them that I had someone renting the car in the next week so I needed to get it done before then. They proceeded to tell me they could not do that because “we have 300 customers and you are not more important than any of them”. I said okay I am just wondering why you didn’t ask for the vin if you needed that information weeks ago when I scheduled the appointment instead of asking less than 24 hours before the appointment when there was nothing to be done. He continued to blame it on me a young girl and was very rude and aggressive in his demeanor. Myself and my family and friends will never be using this company again.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

While they did well on the customer service side of things, the job itself was done poorly. Brought my car in today to get my windshield replaced and waited about 3 hours which went by smoothly as they do a good job of keeping customers happy and taken care of in the waiting room. However, when I received my car back it had glass shards all around on the dashboard with a few scratches that weren’t there before the service. The windshield was not fully broken by any means which leads to the question, why were there glass shards on my dash? Furthermore I had to fix the trim on my window once they were done as it wasn’t set properly and notably stuck out from where it should’ve been. I understand that they were probably short staffed and on a time crunch, but there’s no excuse leaving a customer a car with new safety hazards. Overall if your car is something you take pride in or care about, do not take it here.ServicesAuto windshield repair

NEVER going to Safelite in Bozeman again. I have a chip in my windshield with legs and wanted to get it filled before winter so that it doesn't crack across the entire windshield. I went in to make an appointment and to have them take a look at it to see if it was even fixable. I was told that I did need to get it fixed and to go ahead and schedule an appointment while I was there. A few week later I went in for my appointment and had an INCREDIBLY rude woman tell me it was too small and they couldn't fix it. (Why wasn't this said to me the first time I came in?! I live an hour outside of town, what a waste of my time.) I then went to another glass repair place across town... they were super nice and ended up telling me that my windshield DID need to be fixed and they got me in right away! My fiance had an appointment right after me and said that woman was also extremely rude to him as well.NegativeProfessionalism

I was trading in my Subaru for a Toyota, and as part of the trade-in agreement, I needed to have the windshield replaced. Since I’m from Utah, I didn’t want to risk getting a rock chip on the drive to Montana by replacing it before the trip, so I decided to wait and have it fixed once I arrived. I ended up getting to Montana earlier than expected and was hoping to pick up my new car that same evening before the dealership closed at six. I called Safelite to see if there was any chance they could get me in sooner, and they were able to fit me in earlier than scheduled. The technicians worked quickly and had my windshield done in no time, giving me plenty of time to get to the dealership. I was so excited! I just wanted to say thank you. The technicians were great, the customer service was excellent, and the whole process was incredibly fast and efficient. I really appreciate the outstanding service.

They replaced my windshield. It just broke. And it's impossible to get in touch with anyone Edit : the original replacement required 2 trips, because they didn't have the required window in stock. So not being able to call did not inspire confidence. Finally got it in to replace the new window. They didn't dispute the warranty replacement, but the 11am appointment wasn't repaired until 2:30. Extra bonus : the nuts holding my passenger side windshield wipers down was barely finger tight, so it started stripping out the mechanism. Still nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. After the phone tree hanging up on me for 20 min, I finally got a call center person somewhere to note down the maybe busted wiper assembly. Sending them the bill if it won't hold anymore. Next time I need windows, I'm going somewhere, where it's possible to actually call them.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The communication is just not there. My scheduled time was anywhere between 12pm-5pm. Called to get an ETA. They told me 3pm a tech would be there. 3:30 rolls around, still no tech. I call again and get told by Whitney that they’ve texted & called the tech several times and they had no idea where he was. I asked for a second time to talk to the manager. She said he would call me. Waited 5 hours for a phone call from the manager in total. He never called me. Tech calls me at 4:30 and says he isn’t sure if he can get the glass replacement done since it’s now raining. The tech himself told me to avoid Safelite. If you want your windshield fixed or replaced, go anywhere else but here.

I had a good experience on the day of service. The day after when I came out to go to work in the morning i found my mirror and electronics hanging from the ceiling and no longer attached to the windsheild. When I tried to call Safelite to get this taken care of, my call was routed to a national hotline. I was offered an appointment three weeks out on a work day. I said I would just go ahead a fix it myself and was told if i do my warrantly becomes void for the entire windshield. Why should I forsake a $500 dollar work day three weeks from now over two dollars worth of epoxy and twenty minutes in the parking lot. Its crazy. Im not a satisfied customer.
